On August 10th Facebook started rolling out new search capability to its users. The new features will start showing up over the next few days according to Facebook. Here is info directly from the Facebook website:
You now will be able to search the last 30 days of your News Feed for status updates, photos, links, videos and notes being shared by your friends and the Facebook Pages of which you’re a fan. If people have chosen to make their content available to everyone, you also will be able to search for their status updates, links and notes, regardless of whether or not you are friends. Search results will continue to include people’s profiles as well as relevant Facebook Pages, groups and applications.
To learn more about the new search capabilities and why you might want to use them, click here to read the full article from Facebook.
Here’s to improved search!!

Facebook just posted a blog debunking rumors about advertising and usage of photos on Facebook. They stated that they have not changed their policies regarding this! Have you ever paid attention to the types of ads they actually allow? If so, sometimes you will see your friend’s name mentioned in an ad that relates to a product they are associated with or have interacted with on FB. I’ve seen non-paid ads for Fan Pages numerous times that say “John Doe is a Fan of XYZ Page”, become a fan today (or something to that effect).
Anyway, you can read the entire Facebook blog here: “Debunking Rumors About Advertising and Photos”.
Have a great Friday!

When I do live workshops, it takes TWO Separate Workshops to cover all of this info and the workshop series is just under $100. With this ebook, you essentially get the same information which you can review at your own pace, in your own home, as often as you want…
Here is what others are saying:
“Setting up my Facebook account was a pleasure having your ebook right there next to me. I felt as though I was working with a friend. Thanks Kimberly!” – Terri E.
From a “Very Experienced” Facebook User: “I finally got a chance to sit down with your eBook, and I must say I am impressed. It’s very well put together and, most importantly, the information is useful and presented in an understandable and logical way. I even learned a few things, myself.” – Namasté, Burnell
From a Self-Proclaimed “Newbie”: “You’re E-Book was very informative and to the point. As a “newbie” to Facebook it helped me get set up and running very easily. The “how to’s” along with the screen shots made it easy to understand and put into use. Thank You very much!” – Don E.
“I’ve read marketing books before but none of them combined the importance of doing online marketing, and most of all how to properly do it. What I loved about your book was how easy it was to read and follow the instructions. If you’re just starting to do online “business” networking, after reading this ebook you won’t feel lost anymore. It showed me the do’s and don’ts of Facebook, and how to integrate the Online Networking as part of my marketing strategy. Great book!” – Perla H.
If you are looking for Facebook instruction that combines “how to” with “why” and provides lots of “marketing tips”, then this e-book is right for you. And it’s only $15.95. I’m sure the profit you get from just one new customer, will cover the cost of this ebook many times over. So don’t delay, get ahead of your competition and learn to use Facebook to promote your business!

If you no longer want to use your Facebook account, or if you realize you accidentally created duplicate accounts, you can Deactivate an account or have it Deleted by Facebook.
To deactivate your account, click on Settings and then click Deactivate. (Make sure you are logged into the account you want to deactivate BEFORE you click the deactivate link.) See example below. After you do this, search on your name to make sure you are no longer in the search results.
If you decide to reactivate your account, login to Facebook using your original login and password…that’s all you need to do. But remember, Facebook policy states that you are only allowed to have one account.
If you want to permanently Delete your account, Facebook can handle that for you. Visit this Facebook Help Link and you will see the following. Read the message carefully and only click Submit if you want to permanently Delete your account.

Did you get the Facebook Fan Page vanity URL you wanted? Or, is your Fan Page one of the many that doesn’t meet the minimum requirement of 100 fans? There are other ways to get a shorter, customized URL for your Fan Page. I posted 3 alternatives to a Facebook Fan Page Vanity URL in this blog post (http://marketingthatseasy.com/blog/2009/06/how-to-shorten-facebook-urls/) but it didn’t get the number of visitors that it should’ve. I know based on the visitors to my other blogs about Fan Page URL’s that there are a lot of people interested in this topic. I think the reason my original blog post didn’t reach those people is because of the title of the blog. So, in an effort to reach those people who I know want this information, I’ve posted this blog with a link to my original blog post where you can find the “3 Alternatives to Facebook Fan Page Vanity URL’s”.
If you have any questions about the alternatives, let me know.

I have seen numerous posts on Facebook about people not being able to find any contact info for Facebook. So, I did a little research and found several ways that you can contact Facebook. Here they are:
By Snail Mail:
Facebook, Inc
1601 S. California Ave
Palo Alto, CA 94304
Via The Facebook Website:
You can report a bug via the Facebook website by following these instructions:
- Click on Help Center in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.
- Click on the Topic that most closely relates to the problem you are having. You may need to drill down a few times but you should eventually see the link in the next step.
- Click on Bugs & Known Problems.
- Click on “I’d like to submit a bug report”.
- Click the link in this statement when you see it, “Please submit bug reports only here“.
- Fill out the form and submit it.
Here is an example of a Bug Report Form. Each form is a little different depending on which Topic you chose in step #2 above.

Via Email:
I came across the following email address but I have not tried using it because I don’t have any Facebook issues at the moment: info@facebook.com.
By Phone:
650-543-4800
They do not offer phone support. You will get a recording with info and/or options.
Facebook is a large company. Facebook.com has over 200 Million active users so I’m sure it would be impossible to handle phone support for such a large user base or even to answer all emails. I think your best bet for most situations is probably to submit a bug report. I hope these options help!
